Happy Monday Everyone! I hope everyone got enough rest after watching the Super Bowl last night. Every year I’m sleeping before it ends.. lol! Lets be honest… who only watches for the commercials and the half time show??
Moving on. Last summer we gave our master bedroom a much needed makeover and I couldn’t be happier with the way it turned out. It hadn’t been updated since we bought the house 9 years ago. We’ve spent so much time updating the main floor and completely overhauling our backyard, we figured our room could wait.
The original color of the room was a green color. It had a bit of a texture to it, so when you rubbed your hand against it.. it felt a little rough. I was so worried it was going to take coats upon coats of paint to cover the texture of it. I went to Lowe’s and asked a few questions and they recommended this kind of paint. I bought 2 gallons because I had a feeling one just wasn’t going to be enough. To my amazement.. it only took 1 gallon! You would never know the walls were originally texturized. (Happy dance) The color is Stone Eagle by HGTV HOME by Sherwin-Williams.
I got the rug from Overstock.com and it’s so soft! The prices on their rugs are so good and they are always running sales. Plus FREE shipping!
My favorite piece in the whole room is this Prada pillow by Composition Lane. I am obsessed with the movie The Devil Wears Prada and this pillow was the perfect touch. I literally ordered the last beige cover and they have been out of stock since. However, I’ve linked the gorgeous black one that they have. It comes packaged really super cute and included was a gold high heel shoe keychain. It’s all about the details. Make sure you tag them on Instagram if you purchase one! (@compositionlane)
A lot of people ask why I chose white bedding. Well… bleach is everyone’s friend. And I can change out my shams, pillow cases, throw pillows, blankets with the change of the seasons. Always add color in your accessories. This set is from Target. My bedside lamps are also from Target. I bought the lamp shades separately here.
I searched high and low for a leaning mirror that wasn’t outrageously priced. I found this white one at HomeGoods for under $100! I’ve linked a similar one here. And the gray sweatshirt from Target is on repeat ALL weekend long! I bought it for under $25!!
Are you working on any home projects? I would love to hear about them in the comments section below.
Have a great week!
XOXO – Chanda
