Happy Monday!!
I feel like it’s been forever since I’ve had a blog post. The holidays certainly kept me busy this year and the brutally cold weather we’ve had here in the northeast sends me into hibernation.
But as promised, I wanted to post about my first trip to New York City.
I went with my best friend for a day trip, so we literally had 13 hours to pack everything in that we wanted to do.
I knew that I wanted to see the tree and hit 5th Avenue. My bestie took care of the rest. (Beyond grateful for her)
We took a bus from Buffalo Friday night arriving at 8am on Saturday. The weather was perfect for the beginning of December. I couldn’t have asked for a better sunrise into the city.
First stop? Starbucks. Those who know me know that I can’t function without my Starbucks Venti Pike w/Hazelnut first thing in the morning.
From there it was make our way to the top of 5th Avenue to hit the shops when they opened at 10am. My picks were to hit Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Chanel and Saks. And who could resist Henri Bendel? (I am definitely a Bendel Girl) The hat boxes are amazing!
I splurged and bought an LV Monogram Neverfull. (Here) I had been wanting one for years, so I knew NYC would be the place to get it. Rewind to more than 10 years ago, I bought my first LV Speedy on Rodeo Drive (with my bestie) so I couldn’t pass up getting my 2nd with her.
We split up for a bit in the afternoon. She went to catch a show on Broadway and I of course wanted to shop!! I got lost in Saks… lol! I think I made it to the 8th floor when I told myself.. “I can’t possibly go up anymore escalators”! I totally missed the shoe floor (if there even was one), but that was probably a good thing.
We met up for dinner. Had the best time just talking about anything & everything. I had a couple of cocktails, so that made the conversation even more fun. By the time we left it was dark. Time to head over to the tree!
We made our way through the crowd to get the perfect shot of the tree. (In the middle of course) And it literally took my breath away. I actually got a little emotional because I had always watched the tree lighting on television as a little girl and wanted to see it in person. My dream came true that night. I couldn’t think of a better person to share that moment with than my bestie. (my husband hates NYC)
After we watched the light show on the side of Saks, we headed down to Bryant Park. The cutest shops EVER! The best way to describe it?? Magical.
We hit up Melsys because we both are in love with her illustrations. I got both a Chanel and Louis Vuitton illustration for Christmas from my bestie and I absolutely love them! They are both blonde and it’s totally me!!
The bus back to Buffalo was leaving at 9:30, so we headed back to catch it. We walked through Times Square on our way back and I was in awe! It was my first time (EVER) there so naturally I was just taking it all in. I couldn’t imagine being there on New Years! I mean it was so busy that night! lol..
Once I sat down on the bus, I was done! The day hit me like a mack truck. So tired, but so worth it.
Have you been there during the holidays? What are your favorite things to do?
Have a good week and thanks for checking in!
xoxo Chanda
